YONSEI x ESSEC x KEY ROUNDTABLE:
INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE SMART CITY

KEY(Korea Europe & You) is pleased to welcome Master’s in Urban Management and Real Estate students from ESSEC in Seoul for their academic trip to South Korea.

On Tuesday, April 16th, we co-organized with Yonsei University the Yonsei-ESSEC-KEY Roundtable to comment on urban development and smart cities in both Korea and Europe.

We were honored to have distinguished speakers share their expertise:

  • Dr. Jinhee Kim, Chair of the Department of Urban Planning & Engineering at Yonsei University, and Philippe Li, President of KEY, launched the session with introductory speeches.

  • Dr. Edouard Dequeker from ESSEC commented on the urban competitiveness and governance of Greater Paris.

  • Mr. David-Pierre Jalicon, Chairman of DPJ&Partners and the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took us on a journey through the spiritual and immaterial systems of Korean cities and landscapes.

  • Dr. Myounggu Kang  from the University of Seoul presented the inclusive and sustainable smart city aspects of Seoul.

  • Dr. Jinhee Kim of Yonsei University discussed the smart city challenge projects of Korea.

The discussion, moderated by Dr. Sanghoon Lee (Yonsei University), and insightful contributions from all speakers enriched our understanding of urban challenges and opportunities.

A special thanks to Prof. Kabsung Kim, Chief of Smart City Convergence Service R&D Group at Yonsei University, for his inspiring concluding remarks.
