France–Korea: 140 Years of Shared History & Friendship — What Future Can We Build Together?
On October 16, 2026, the Assemblée nationale (French National Assembly) in Paris hosted a landmark symposium celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and Korea, bringing together political, diplomatic, and business leaders to reflect on shared history and shape the future of bilateral cooperation.
The symposium featured four thematic round tables, addressing key dimensions of our bilateral partnership from historical roots to future strategic horizons:

Round Table 1 | The early historical roots and enduring diplomatic foundations of France-Korea ties.

Round Table 2 | Post-1953 bilateral dynamics across political, economic, and civic spheres. Highlight: Chairman of KEY Mr. Philippe Li served as a featured speaker delivering an insightful address that traced the post–Korean War trajectory of bilateral relations, charting key milestones across the political, economic, and cultural spheres.

Round Table 3 | Geostrategic challenges on the Korean Peninsula and joint middle-power diplomacy.
