BRIEFING SESSION - ESG & SUSTAINABILITY

KEY(Korea Europe & You) organized on Friday May 24th at Veolia Korea in Seoul an exclusive gathering at the occasion of the visit of Dr.Joseph Dellatte from Institut Montaigne, one of the best experts in decarbonization, who shared his latest research on “Industry Decarbonization Policies in Europe and North East Asia”. Representatives of Korean and European companies (energy, chemical industry, finance, logistics), institutions (EU delegation, Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy) and students were present, allowing an in-depth exchange.

Dr.Joseph Dellatte provided us insights on the current state of the industry's decarbonization efforts in the main 4 energy-intensive industries (steel, aluminium, cement, chemical) with perspectives from Europe, Korea, China and Japan.

Following an exploration of the various industrial strategies and approaches to decarbonization in the above territories, and how the countries and industries are implementing them from the perspectives of the countries and companies, a discussion was engaged covering technological and financial implications. The variety of sectors and perspectives represented in the meeting led to a productive debate between the participants.
